Some would say Resa Design was inevitable. At the age of five my mom, now Nana Suzi, taught this curious girl to sew on an antique Singer sewing machine. Lucky for me, there was a great store front sewing school in my hometown of Midland Park, New Jersey. Mrs. Faucett patiently taught my friends and I how to sew and create clothing every Monday after school. By third grade I was selling my creations. The first was a draw-string bag for our recorders. The entire 3rd grade class was sporting these 50 cent bags within a month. Fast forward to 2001 when my friends started having babies. I love giving gifts but could not find the ‘coolest’ gifts I really wanted. So again, I took matters into my own hands. I started designing and creating baby blankets. They were an instant hit. Then my husband Keith and I birthed our own little creation, a baby boy. At the time the market was seriously lacking affordable and functional baby goods with a modern style that I wasn't embarrassed to be seen with. I was determined to design a changing pad that was both functional, stylish, and didn’t take up my entire, very “un-diaper bag”, diaper bag. Between here and there are lots of busy days and late nights fulfilling orders, designing new products, raising our two boys, and meeting moms all over the world who don’t want to lose their great personal style just because they have kids. Seriously, does your baby know that the burp cloth you’re catching their gross spit-up with matches your outfit better than theirs? I doubt it.
